Question

Does anyone have any tips on how to clean their dolls? I know there's that stuff you can buy from AG, but it seems like there must be a cheaper way. Also is there any way to bring the shine back into their hair? My oldest 2 dolls' hair is starting to look dull and grayish.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Oh someone the board has an awesome website with directions on cleaning your doll. They said diaper wipes for minor clean ups, baking soda on a damp cloth - then rinse with water (don't get Baking Soda in eyes or on paint and don't get cloth body wet). A buf-puff (sold at drug store) for tough to remove scuffs. The doll skin care kit is 100% pure baking soda - which costs under a $1 at the supermarket!!!!

If I think of the web-site I will edit post!

    Thanks!

I had a feeling that the doll skin care stuff was something that could be gotten much cheaper elsewhere!

If she's just dirty, tap a little baking soda onto a wet washcloth and wash her gently and rinse. Be careful not to get water in her eyes!

You can wash her hair in cool water and wig shampoo.

Joy (djsnjones) has an amazing restoration album if your girl needs more help than a simple bath.

Here is a link to the resoration album. It's tremendously helpful!

For cleaning the vinyl, baking soda is good; that's what's in the container from AG anyway! I've used windex sprayed on a paper towel as well.
